June 10th (Sunday)

I am excited to get to go see the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority and how it is different compared to hospitals back home. I want to see what different departments they have in this hospital and how many beds they have for each unit. Also, I am interested in seeing how the hospital has different designs and patterns through out the hospital from what I seen in pictures. I also am excited to go to the Cherokee museum and get to learn more about the Cherokee culture. I am very interested in learning more about their culture and the believes they have.

My apprehensions about this trip is not being able to get the patient to trust me while being at the hospital. Some may have a mindset against American people from the history that happened to the Native Americans. I did not look up that much in depth about the counties and boundaries that we will be working at. I did watch the videos that were posted by you to learn a little more about the Cherokee culture and their traditions. I have looked more into the boundaries that we have been to learn  more about the reservation and how the Native Americans got their land back.

My thoughts in regards to Native American people are good because from what I learned in history class they were the innocent people in all of this. The government was unfair to them by kicking them out of their own land. They were in a way trying to eliminate the Cherokee tribe, so the Americans could have their land. I do not have any bias towards the Native Americans. I have my own culture and I know what it is like for people to be bias against your own culture. That is not something I would want someone to feel that way because of their culture. If I did have any cultural bias I would put that aside to be open-minded about someone else's culture like I would want someone else to do too with me and my culture.
